The President of Unioncamere del Veneto, Mario Pozza, comments on the accidents that occurred on the A4 today: it is another cursed day and unfortunately not only for the flurry
of accidents, but because a person has lost his life. Our thoughts therefore go first and foremost to him and his family, to whom we express our deepest condolences. However, this is not the
first time on this stretch of road that there have been tragic accidents involving people while they are doing their jobs. This is an untenable situation that not only concerns the
infrastructure, but also road safety and the safety of the workers who travel this stretch every day, risking their lives. We are saying this just a few days before the first of May, which
reminds us of the importance of safety at work, and intervening to resolve the problems on this cursed stretch means protecting workers, businesses and citizens.
We have been repeating for months that what is happening is inexcusable, and the figures speak of a real war bulletin that continues to run, recording accidents almost every day. I would like
to remind you that I made my last statement only a few days ago. We are aware that there are huge problems for the Government to deal with, such as the consequences of the war, the cost of fuel
and energy, but we are equally aware that we cannot look the other way. It is necessary to act as soon as possible to resolve an issue that has been dragging on for years. The territory, the
communities and the institutions are united in asking for investments for the third lane, which, as facts tell us, can no longer wait.
As Unioncamere Veneto we have been stressing for some time the need to find a solution and put an end to this affair. Ours is an appeal for the assumption of responsibility because every day
lost risks lengthening the war bulletin.
