Milan, 11 April 2024 – Increasingly influencing European and national tables. This is the imperative for the Plastic Rubber companies associated with Confindustria Veneto Est, and the recent collaboration agreement between the CVE Plastic Rubber Group chaired by Simonetta Tiberto and the National Plastic Rubber Federation chaired by Marco Do, which aims to ensure the closest coordination in supporting companies and timely information on the technical-regulatory novelties of the sectors represented and on joint initiatives in the field of industrial relations, labour, and welfare, goes in this direction.

“The recent example of the European packaging regulation, which, despite some improvements, does not fail to impact our sector and our territories,” explains Simonetta Tiberto, president of the Plastics Rubber Group of Confindustria Veneto Est, “has made us better understand how fundamental it is to work as an Italian System in moving compactly at the European level to counter ideological drives that, under the pretext of environmentalism, penalise Italian and Veneto manufacturing, which expresses a concrete approach to sustainability that has proven effective and productive in terms of work, skills, and innovation. Being part of the Confindustria system, at a territorial and national level, is the lever to further strengthen this teamwork for the protection of an industry that is strategic for the country’.

“The agreement signed with Confindustria Veneto Est confirms the Federation’s desire to consolidate relations with the Territorial Associations of Confindustria in which so many companies of the two industries are present,” comments the president of Federazione Gomma Plastica, Marco Do. “The agreement,” continues Do, “with the new and important Veneto territorial aggregation is particularly pleasing to us because it intends not only to develop synergic activities, promoting the mutual membership of the many companies that are already members of one of the two organisations, but also aims to facilitate the membership of the many rubber plastic companies in the area that are outside the system and can benefit from the complementary services of the two confederal organisations.

Veneto is the second region after Lombardy for the number of companies in the sector (1,500 local units for 26,800 employees) with a turnover of EUR 7.8 billion (13.9% of the national total).

The Italian recycling industry counts 4,800 enterprises, 236,365 employees and generates an added value of 10.5 billion (increased by 31% from 2010 to 2020).
