ARMONIE 2024: MUSIC AND TERRITORY MERGE ONCE AGAIN IN THE WORLD HERITAGE HILLS
Pieve di Soligo (TV), 18 June 2024 – After winning last year’s award as Veneto City of Culture 2023, the territory of the Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the territory of the IPA Terre Alte della Marca Trevigiana, will once again in 2024 offer a series of concerts of “music in the landscape and music for the landscape”, with important names in Italian and international music, while also highlighting young musicians who are the expression of the quality of the area’s music schools.
The review includes a programme of 30 events in iconic and special places in the territory, with the highlight of two concerts at dawn and two concerts at dusk, moments of great musical appeal and absolute beauty linked to the landscape.
‘The Armonie sulle Colline (Harmonies on the Hills) event,’ comments Marina Montedoro, President of the Association for the Heritage of the Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, ‘aims to support sustainable tourism in harmony with nature, fully reflecting the theme of the event. The events will take place in different locations, with open-air concerts immersed in the evocative landscape of the Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This choice will enhance not only the natural heritage but also the historical-architectural one, highlighting iconic places such as the small rural churches of the area. Moreover, all events will be promoted through digital platforms, including the Venetando network, to ensure widespread dissemination and accessibility to a wide audience. In particular, we are committed to making the events accessible to people with disabilities, following the example of the inclusive initiatives successfully implemented last year’.
The programme will bring big names capable of connecting music and landscape, enhancing some important local historical and musical resources and placing them in successful contexts already experienced last year. “The intense work of these months and the collaborations born during 2023, with the first edition and the experience of the Venetian City of Culture award,” emphasises Stefano Soldan, president of the IPA Terre Alte della Marca Trevigiana and mayor of Pieve di Soligo, “have allowed the creation of a new and articulated programme for this 2024 edition, which in the footsteps of last year’s, aims to re-propose the discovery of special places in our territory through music. The collaboration between organisations, municipalities and associations is leading to results that are not only interesting, but also exciting and unique. Having been able to make the most of past experiences is a sign of maturity and farsightedness that distinguishes our territory and that we must strengthen more and more”.
