The new wave of bad weather that hit the Treviso area last night caused critical situations on the provincial road network: the Province of Treviso immediately intervened, in collaboration with the Fire Brigade and road maintenance contractors, to check critical points where the rainfall had caused landslides and debris flows. Initial monitoring revealed the following: a number of landslides in the Municipality of Valdobbiadene, on Provincial Road SP 36; waterfalls from the surrounding mountains on Provincial Road SP 635 Passo San Boldo in the Municipality of Cison di Valmarino; falling rocks on Provincial Road SP 152 in the Municipality of Tarzo, a landslide on Provincial Road SP1 ‘del Mostaccin’ in the Municipality of Maser, a landslide in the Vittorio Veneto locality of Longhere SP 35.
The Road Sector of the Province is continuing in these hours with the checking and monitoring operations in the area, as well as starting works to restore safety in the critical points mentioned above.
In the last few days, the Province has also completed the safety works on the 8th hairpin bend on the SP 140 road in Borso del Grappa, consolidating the support structures of the hairpin bend along the provincial road “Strada Giardino”, a connecting road leading to the summit of Monte Grappa. In addition to this urgent intervention, work was also completed to reinforce and close the sinkhole that had been created near the Raboso torrent along the SP 152 “Dei Colli Settentrionali” provincial road between the municipalities of Miane and Valdobbiadene at the end of last year: a complex work that consolidated the foundations of the bridge through the construction of a reef, which will prevent and limit the erosion caused by the river, restore the safety of the road surface and the retaining structures
