According to two University of California, Los Angeles researches that analysed expert ratings from Wine Advocate, Wine Spectator, Wine Enthusiast, Gault Millau, Gilbert Gaillard and Bettane
Desseauve, organic wines (tasted blind) deserve 4.1 to 6.2 points more. Of the 20 best wines in the world under $20 recommended in 2020 by Eric Asimov (New York Times), 9 are organic.

In the last 15 years, organic wine has gone from being a niche in the vast wine market to being the product that symbolises a precise drinking style, consolidated in habits and appreciated by wine
lovers.

Introduction: Maria Grazia Mammuccini – winemaker in Chianti Colli Aretini and President of FederBio

Silvano Brescianini – producer of the first organic Franciacorta and President of the Consorzio per la tutela del Franciacorta

Roberto Cipresso – oenologist

Ivo Nardi – pioneer in the production of organic wines in the Prosecco Superiore DOCG area of Conegliano Valdobbiadene (TV)

Nicola Venditti – historical producer of organic wine quality in Dop Sannio in the territory of Castelvenere (BN)

Debora Viviani – Observatory on Family Consumption, University of Verona

Moderator: Matteo Borré – Wine Couture journalist

and will discuss:

how and why organic is revolutionising wine consumption

what are consumers’ expectations

the impact of organic farming practices and organic certification on the quality of wine produced.
