Oscillations
Padova, 24 August 2021 – After the mid-August break, the summer of the Teatro Stabile del Veneto continues at the Castello Festival: Wednesday 1 September on the open-air stage of the
Arena Live Geox in Padova the show Oscillazioni will be staged, a co-production of the Stabile del Veneto and Dedalofurioso, based on the text by Vitaliano Trevisan interpreted by
Matteo Cremon and directed by Valentina Brusaferro.
The text opens against the backdrop of a soundscape, which can be traced back to any suburb in north-eastern Italy. A man in his forties, seated at a table, gives voice to his intimate thoughts,
taking stock of the last seven years of his life: from the day he left his wife, pregnant with a child he did not want. Through an analysis of what has been, the man rips open his thoughts, showing
his disarming integrity. Like a tightrope walker suspended in mid-air, the man proceeds along the rope that separates reason from its opposite. In front of him, today, the possibility of meeting
his ex-wife, of getting to know his son.
Through a movement of contrasting thoughts, in an oscillation of meanings, the protagonist accompanies us towards the mad drift of a homicidal project, when at the end it seems to reach a turning
point. Or to a tragic conclusion.
The Festival – with a programme of 30 performances from 13 July to 15 September – is promoted by the Department of Culture of the City of Padua with the contribution of the Fondazione Cassa
di Risparmio di Padova e Rovigo.
Due to the restoration works that are affecting the Castello Carrarese – the historical seat of the Festival – the shows will take place in one of the most frequented places by the audience of
live performances, the Arena Live Geox, an outdoor space adjacent to the Gran Teatro Geox, which for the occasion will be set up with a large stage, a 1,000-seat auditorium and numerous
services (from free parking to refreshments, from the hospitality area to sanitized toilets) to attend the events in full safety.
