Venice, 8 June – The President of Unioncamere Veneto, Mario Pozza, took part in the Compraverde Forum organised once again this year by the Veneto Region and, in taking part in
the day’s work, reiterated that: sustainability is a challenge that closely concerns the business world because the model of the future will be that of the circular economy. With the
implementation of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) we want to achieve ambitious goals with specific and clear recycling targets and precise recycling percentages for the various
materials used by our companies. Our production system is already a reference point at national level for waste management and boasts virtuous experiences. On their own, however, companies cannot
succeed, and this is why the government needs to take action to create a favourable ecosystem for the ecological transition…
More specifically, Unioncamere Veneto has identified a number of fundamental factors that could have a positive impact on companies:
The decrease of the tax burden by the state for those operating in the circular economy;
The improvement of the system of national and local laws and regulations for those who want to undertake or intensify circular economy initiatives;
New specific professional skills.
The president of Unioncamere Veneto, Mario Pozza, also recalled the positive impact that the circular economy could create on the labour market: a study carried out by Unioncamere Veneto
through the Excelsior Information System, created to map out the skills most in demand in the labour market, showed that even in the face of a widespread contraction in recruitment caused by the
pandemic crisis, companies’ interest in Green Jobs has not diminished and there are signs of a recovery in employment in the innovation, energy and environment sectors.
Skills on energy saving and environmental sustainability are the first skills required by companies right after soft skills. They even come before digital skills and knowledge of visual and
multimedia communication tools. And it is also for this reason that we cannot miss the challenge of sustainability, which is an opportunity to build a future for our young people by avoiding a
brain drain.
The Veneto Chamber System has long stood out for its activities in support of the circular economy and environmental sustainability, proposing and carrying out projects on the subject also at
national level (through, for example, the Equalisation Fund), organising training and information events, participating in working tables such as the Ecobonus Table, the RIR and the Steering Group
on Bioeducation, and obviously, given our presence here today, participating in the Tables on Green Public Procurement with the guidance of the Purchasing Department that is hosting us on this
occasion. The Chamber system will put in place all the necessary actions to be at the side of businesses in this challenge.
