Pozza: Belluno Dolomites DMO Foundation has all the credentials and the premises to play a significant role in view, above all, of the many appointments of international level, scheduled in the coming years.

Belluno – Treviso, 13 April 2023. The process of transforming the “Consorzio Dmo Dolomiti” into the “Fondazione DMO Dolomiti Bellunesi” (Belluno Dolomites DMO Foundation) has been concluded with the appointment by the founding members.

The Veneto Region strongly supported the creation of the Foundation instrument, considering it the most suitable for this role.

At this stage, the Chamber of Commerce Council appointed, in compliance with gender equality, Chamber Councillor Emanuela De Zanna, Dr. Michele Basso – the current director of the Foundation – Lionello Gorza President of the Prealpi Tourist Consortium, and Dr. Elena Zambelli, a Chamber of Commerce official, who will have to accompany the transformation of the Foundation towards the public nature of the organisation in this initial phase.

President Mario Pozza expressed his warmest thanks to President Maria Lorraine Berton of Confindustria, President Paolo Doglioni of Confcommercio, President Claudia Scarzanella of Confartigianato, Massimo Sposato of Appia, and Alessandro De Rocco of Coldiretti, Diego Donazzolo of Confagricoltura, and the presidents of all the Belluno tourist consortia for their comments and suggestions, assuring them that the Chamber of Commerce will guarantee its own contribution, even financially, to the Foundation, within the sphere of competence that the law reserves for chambers of commerce in tourism matters.

“This formal step was necessary,” says Mario Pozza President of the Chamber of Commerce  , “and I welcomed the willingness of everyone, especially the economic categories and consortia, to be active players in promoting tourism in the Belluno area. The choral contribution of those with good ideas must now be brought to the decision-making table, and the Foundation will certainly be everyone’s instrument. The Veneto Region, at the level of Unioncamere Veneto, has asked us to manage a call for tenders to give contributions to tourism destination management bodies that become Foundations. That Foundation of the Belluno Dolomites has all the credentials and the premises to play a significant role in view, above all, of the many appointments of international level, scheduled in the coming years. It is now a matter of making a further effort, especially among the Founder members, to allocate even more resources to better structure the Foundation, which will have to acquire new professional skills and make its action more incisive and effective”.
