Cortina 2021. The World Championships in Cortina start with the two SuperGs: women’s race at 10:45 am, men’s race at 1:00 pm

Cortina d’Ampezzo (BL), 10th February 2021 – Two races on the same day, just a few hours apart. The sports programme of the World Championships in Cortina will open with the two Super-Gs,
originally scheduled for Tuesday and moved to tomorrow – Thursday, February 11th – due to bad weather.
The women’s race will start at 10:45 am on the Olympia of Tofane; it will be opened by Marta Bassino who has once again chosen bib number 1. The Swiss Lara
Gut-Behrami
, World Cup leader in this speciality and one of the big favourites, has chosen to start with bib number 7. Corinne Suter and Federica Brignone, second and third in
the speciality standing, chose bibs 5 and 9. Reigning champion Mikaela Shiffrin will have bib number 4.
At 1:00 pm the new Vertigine slope will host the men’s Super-G. Number 1 will be worn by Austrian Christian Walder, while number 3 will be worn by Mauro
Caviezel
, a great protagonist at the beginning of the season who then had to stop due to an injury and who will be back on the piste tomorrow for the race. Number 5 for the current leader of
the Super-G ranking, Austrian Vincent Kriechmayr. Italian Dominik Paris, who won the title in the last edition in Åre (2019) will start with 8.
