Rome, 16 July 2022 – Italy’s anti-hacker companies are now over 3,000 strong and continue to grow. Our champions of cybersecurity in the last nine months have in fact posted an increase of
over 5%, after the real leap made in the two-year period 2018-2020 (+32%).
According to an elaboration by
Unioncamere-InfoCamere, published in the latest issue of the digital magazine ‘Unioncamere, economia e imprese’ (available here:
https://bit.ly/3aGevaE),
the increase in the number of employees also continued last year (+700 between 2020 and 2021), rising from 28,400 to 29,100, corresponding to a current average of 9 employees per company.
The highest concentration of these companies is in Lazio, where 708 companies (22% of the total) were based as at 30 June. In second place is Lombardy (with 581 enterprises). Next in terms of the
number of anti-hacker companies are Campania, Sicily and Veneto (with 317, 216 and 209 companies respectively).
In terms of employees, the companies that have created the most job opportunities are located in Lombardy, Lazio and Trentino Alto Adige which, with their 18,000 employees, account for 62% of the
entire sector. Campania, in sixth place in this ranking, is first among the regions of Southern Italy with 1,461 employees and 5% of the total.
