Our companies continue to look for new employees,- commented Mario Pozza, President of the Chamber of Commerce of Treviso and Belluno|Dolomiti. – According to Unioncamere’s
Excelsior system, more than 10,000 new employees are expected in the provinces of Treviso and Belluno in January alone.
The comparison with last year,- explains Pozza, – is absolutely positive, we are talking about more than 3,000 more expected entries compared to January 2021, but it is an unequal
comparison, a year ago, in fact, we were in a very different health and economic situation.
The most sought-after, both in Treviso and in Belluno, are metalworkers, but at least 1 out of 2 is difficult to find. The difficulty then increases for more technical figures, in Treviso
the difficulty of finding a computer technician or engineer is almost 60%. According to the latest Excelsior bulletin, 47,470 new employees are expected to join Veneto companies in January 2022, an
increase of 15,040 compared to January 2021. Forecasts for the January-March quarter are also up, 123,000 (+36,090 compared to the same period in 2021).
In January, most searches are concentrated among skilled workers (17,350 searches), especially those in metalworking activities (6,780 positions). There is also a high demand for cooks,
waiters and other professions in tourism services (4,360), while among the most specialised figures, sales and marketing technicians (3,240) and IT technicians (2,510) stand out.
Turning to the provincial data, there are 8,570 entries expected in January in the province of Treviso (+2,480 on last January) and 1,800 in the province of Belluno (+640 on January ’21).
In the detail of the professions, in Treviso the searches follow the regional data: the most searched are still the metal workers (1,620), sales and marketing technicians (610),
administration and secretarial staff (570) and cooks and waiters (550).
In the province of Belluno the figures are quite similar: 400 workers are expected to join the workforce as metalworkers and 210 as cooks and waiters.
Of all the jobs expected in Treviso, about 45% are difficult to find, while the figure for Belluno is slightly higher at 52%. For the most sought-after figures in the Marca, one out of two
metalworkers is difficult to find (and the percentage increases for some company sectors), the percentage rises to 56% for cooks and waiters, while it reaches almost 60% for a computer
technician or engineer. In the Belluno area, then, more than 75% of the figures in tourism services are difficult to find, but this is probably influenced by the fact that many of the workers in
this sector (mostly seasonal workers) are already employed at the moment; in fact, in recent months the same percentage was below 50%.
