Verona, 30 September 2021 – An investiture in full regalia, complete with official insignia: a red Verona marble cube, bronze tile and silver chisel. On the opening day of the 55th
Marmomac in Verona, the proclamation of four new Master Stone Makers
took place. They are Albano Poli, Giorgio Stocchero, Federica Zanini and Leonello Zenatelli from
The award has continued the tradition of the Ancient Free Guild of the Art of Stone of Verona since 1319, and since 1980 has rewarded those who have distinguished themselves in enhancing and
promoting the natural stone sector.
In his 66-year career, Albano Poli has created works characterised by a special synergy of materials and techniques, and has created an atelier with a contemporary Renaissance flavour, where
he has designed, created and signed works that have since been exported all over the world.
Giorgio Stocchero has shown a marked propensity for internationalisation and for exploring new market realities, as well as being committed to promoting and protecting natural stone and its
Federica Zanini, granddaughter of Virginio Tacchella, former master in 1986, is the promoter of the Young Group of the Valpantena Marble Consortium and has distinguished herself for
the proactive spirit and passion with which she cultivates her work.
Leonello Zenatelli was awarded for his commitment during his two terms as President of Asmave and for his participation and support for the proposed activities, to which he has always
adhered with a great spirit of associationism.
Presenting the four diplomas to the new Stone Masters was the top management of VeronaFiere: President Maurizio Danese and General Manager Giovanni Mantovani.
Marmomac is confirmed as the most important international exhibition dedicated to the marble supply chain, processing technologies, design applications and training. Until Saturday 2 October, 756
companies from 39 countries, 45% of which from abroad, are present at Veronafiere.
