Alpago (Belluno), July 28, 2024 – Thousands arrived in the afternoon of Sunday, July 28, at Santa Croce Lake for the Alpago Air Show, the show proposed by the Committee Alpago 2 Ruote & Solidarietà and the Municipality of Alpago, in collaboration with the Aeroclub Pordenone and various associations of the area and with the support of the Fondo Comuni Confinanti ( Neighbouring Municipalities Fund) and the Chamber of Commerce Treviso – Belluno| Dolomites.
The public was able to admire sporting vehicles, which performed a wide variety of acrobatics, parachutists and historical replicas that gave life to re-enactments of duels and battles of the past. Cristiano Perseu, one of the main performers of flyboarding, the revolutionary extreme water sport that allows one to perform spectacular evolutions and dives into the water thanks to a water-jet propulsion system, also enjoyed great success. Twenty or so vehicles took part, coordinated by event director Fausto Pittino. And four hours of spectacle, at very high intensity from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. In addition to the spectacle, there was also room to admire the Veneto Region’s Civil Defence vehicles, such as the forest fire-fighting helicopter. And to remember Dario De Felip, the Suem 118 helicopter pilot who died in the Falco helicopter accident in 2009, at Rio Gere, in Cortina d’Ampezzo. In a simple and intense ceremony, the Alpago 2 Ruote & Solidarietà Committee presented Dario De Felip’s family members with a tribute, in the presence of several local authorities and the commissioner of Ulss 1 Dolomiti, Giuseppe Dal Ben.
It was a wonderful day, with marvellous performances and lots of spectators, – commented Ennio Soccal, president of the Committee Alpago 2 Ruote & Solidarietà. We wanted this party to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Committee’s establishment, but also to remember Dario De Felip. A big thank you to those who collaborated with us, first and foremost the municipality of Alpago, the Regional Civil Defence and the many volunteers.
Alpago Air Show was an opportunity to show a wide audience some of the means available to the Veneto Civil Defence, – said the Regional Councillor of Civil Defence , Gianpaolo Bottacin. These included fixed-wing aircraft, which we only have in Veneto.
With Dario, we also remembered his three colleagues from the Falco crew who tragically perished in that 2009 accident: Fabrizio Spaziani, Marco Zago and Stefano Da Forno,’ said the commissioner of Ulss 1 Dolomiti, Giuseppe Dal Ben. A tribute to those who are no longer with us this day, but also an opportunity to remember, once again, the importance of helicopter rescue.
After 15 years, the air festival has returned to Alpago, – says Gianluca Dal Borgo, mayor of Chies d’Alpago and organiser of the event between 2010 and 2012. An occasion to give a big hug to Dario’s wife, Paola, and all the Falco families.
An occasion, – added the mayor of Alpago, Alberto Peterle, – not to forget all those people who work daily in favour of the territory.
The president of the Province of Belluno, Roberto Padrin, was also present in Alpago. It was a wonderful day of fun and reminiscence,’ said Padrin. ‘But also a great opportunity to make our wonderful territory known and valued.
