TREVISO – Between Sunday and Tuesday, more than 800 spectators packed the Sant’Anna Theater to watch the show “Le Quattro Stagioni” (The Four Seasons) directed by Sergio Manfio. The theater of the Theatrical Production Center Gli Alcuni provided a splendid sounding board for Vivaldi’s music, performed by the 6 musicians from the ReCordaRes Ensemble, who performed on stage together with the actors to introduce the show.
On Sunday afternoon, the theater was crowded with about 350 people: the families who enthusiastically follow the playbill proposed by The Some from week to week. The two reruns on Monday and Tuesday morning, dedicated to students, saw more than 450 tickets snatched and a very wide audience origin, with groups from Carbonera, Casier, Giavera del Montello, Mogliano, Montebelluna, Olmi di San Biagio di Callalta, Ponzano Veneto, Santa Lucia di Piave, Trevignano, and Treviso.
Full theater, then, with an audience of very attentive and responsive children: silent at the right moment, to listen to the music played live, but at the same time full of liveliness and enthusiasm in responding to the promptings of the actors on stage. On stage Laura Fintina in the role of “narrator” and trait d’union between the different gags and situations on stage, while the musicians accompany all the narrative moments with great harmony.
It begins with the concert dedicated to Spring, which provides the musical plot for the episode of the Circus director, Mr. Baffoni, played by Sergio Manfio, who does his act as a lion tamer. The show then continues with the other three concerts, accompanying the Bubble Wizard (Enrico Moro), the wacky magic acts of Baffoni and his assistant (Francesco Manfio), the performance of a good acrobat (Alessandro Zanutto), and the vocals of the young singer Adele (played by Anna Manfio), all of which were applauded to great applause…
A comment by Francesco MANFIO – We believe that the great success of our version of The Four Seasons is due to having respected Vivaldi’s score one hundred percent while simultaneously telling a very modern story. Namely, the strength and perseverance with which a girl pursues her dream of becoming a singer. Finally, the doing it within the fascinating and entertaining world of the circus.
Lavina TASSINARI, solo violin and concertmaster of the Ensemble ReCordaRes, in recent days had commented on the collaboration with Gli Alcuni for this performance in this way – Every time Vivaldi’s Four Seasons meets the company Gli Alcuni an incredible magic is born: the arts, music, performance, singing, dialogue on stage as protagonists with the only thread woven by the narrated story. We musicians play the famous Vivaldi composition without making any musical simplifications, we perform the composer’s work in its entirety with the original instruments: string quintet, harpsichord and solo violin.
After the Treviso dates, the performance will be presented at the Teatro Comunale in Modena next Friday, Jan. 26, also for students.
