EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of the European Commission, Josep Borrell, is travelling to Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and
the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia 30 October, to Sunday, 3 October.
This is his first official visit to the Gulf region as High Representative. High Representative Borrell is holding bilateral meetings in Doha, Qatar. He is scheduled to meet
with Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, as well as with Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani. They will hold a joint press conference
after their meeting, at 11:10 CET.
Josep Borrell will also meet with the Advisor for National Security to the Qatari Emir, Mohammed Bin Ahmed Al Misnad. On Friday, 1 September, High Representative
Borrell will be in the United Arab Emirates to participate in the World Policy Conference (WPC) in Abu Dhabi at 12.45 CET. The debates will be livestreamed on the WPC website. He will have bilateral
meetings in the margins, including with Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama.
On Saturday, 2 October, High Representative Borrell will travel on to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. On Sunday, 3 October, he will meet in Riyadh with the Secretary-General of the
Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Nayef bin Falah Al-Hajraf, and with Saudi Foreign Minister, Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud. They will hold a joint press conference after their meeting, at
around 13:00 CET. In the afternoon, the High Representative will also have bilateral meetings with the Minister of Trade and Information, Majid bin Abdullah Al Qasabi, and with the Yemeni
President Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi. Audiovisual coverage will be available on Europe
