Treviso, 10th November 2021. The ninth Italo-Moroccan Festival inaugurated its four days of intense work yesterday morning at the Chamber of Commerce, where a meeting was held that will pave
the way for new forms of collaboration, as was stressed by those present: all important figures on the Veneto and Maghreb scene: Mario Pozza, President of the Chamber of Commerce of
Belluno-Treviso
as well as Head of Unioncamere Veneto, Franco Conzato, General Manager of the Venetian Agency for Internationalisation Venicepromex, Abdallah Khezraji,
President of the Italian-Moroccan Festival, Chafik Cherkaoui, Consul General of Morocco in Verona, Ahmed Lamoualdi, Vice Consul of Morocco in Milan and Abdelghani Bouanfir,
General Manager of Banca Popolare Chaabi, one of the most important institutions in Morocco and beyond, with ten branches in Italy.
Our doors are open to cooperation in a positive scenario, in which there is a lot to be done, – said Mario Pozza, – stressing that a delegation of six entrepreneurs from Veneto
will be in Morocco from 15 to 18 November, interested in developing agreements that will bring development and economic growth to both countries, in a project for which Moroccan raw materials can
be enhanced by Veneto technology in the industrial automation, furniture and furnishings sectors. There are also prospects in the agricultural sector, with preferential ‘green’ transport lanes to
the ports of Venice and Trieste, and in the milk and fishing sectors.
Khrezraji, in agreement with the Festival’s vice-president Fatiha Rouissam, pointed out that working together can bring benefits to both Morocco and Italy: “We Win” is the motto of
King Muhammad VI, according to whom “we win by working together”. The reflections of Bouanfir, who has a deep knowledge of the Italian economic reality and of the potential of
future agreements, similar to the one started with some Sicilian entrepreneurs who have become world leaders in the distribution of anchovies with the support of Banque Chaabi, were also
interesting.
We can also do a lot in Veneto, a region with which we share a common sense of work and family.
The festival continued with lunch in Valdobbiadene prepared by the Italian-Moroccan students of the Dieffe hotel school, followed by a meeting with the Mayor and Prefect and a lecture at the Auser
Popular University.
