“Giro in mostra” Exhibition
Alpago (Belluno), August 2, 2025– The 30th edition of the Lake Santa Croce Tour, a multisport event organized by the Comitato Alpago 2 Ruote & Solidarietà, was presented on the morning of Friday, August 2, at the Bim Piave headquarters in Belluno. Recently, the same organization successfully hosted the Kite Festival and Alpago Air Show at the beach of Lake Santa Croce, attracting a large audience.
The event is scheduled for Sunday, August 18. As is tradition, the Tour will begin and end in Puos d’Alpago. The event includes a 17.4-kilometer cycling race, a 17.4-kilometer running race, a handbike race over the same distance, a 4.8-kilometer roller skating race, and a 7-kilometer walk. There will be no rankings; as with every edition, solidarity is the true winner. The registration fee of 8 euros will be distributed as follows: 3.5 euros to the Management Fund of the “Hospice Via di Natale” in Aviano (which provides care for terminally ill cancer patients and free accommodation for their families at the CRO of Aviano), 3.5 euros to the Cucchini Association in Belluno (which offers assistance to severely ill patients and their families at home or at the Hospice Casa Tua Due at San Martino Hospital in Belluno), and, a new addition since 2023, 1 euro to the Alpago Solidarity Project (which supports families in Alpago with members showing early signs of Alzheimer’s disease).
Registrations are already open (and will remain so until August 11) at the customer service desk of the Decathlon store in Ponte nelle Alpi. From Tuesday, August 13 to Saturday, August 17, registrations will be available from 10 AM to 1 PM and 4 PM to 8 PM at the Comitato Alpago 2 Ruote & Solidarietà headquarters, located at the Youth Hostel – Via del Mulino, 7 – Bastia d’Alpago. On Sunday, August 18, registrations will be accepted from 8 AM until 15 minutes before the start of each event (unless otherwise decided by the organizers) in front of the Youth Center in Puos d’Alpago.
In line with tradition, each contestant will receive a T-shirt prominently featuring a drawing created by two Finnish artists, Jaana Vilo and Viivi Jalonen. Some works by these artists, along with photographs by Jani Hannula, will be displayed at the “Giro in mostra” exhibition, traditionally organized by the Comitato Alpago 2 Ruote & Solidarietà during the Lake Tour. The exhibition will be hosted from August 4 to 31 at the municipal building in Pieve d’Alpago, with the inauguration on Saturday, August 3, at 5 PM.
This international collaboration has been made possible through synergy with the Europe Direct Montagna Veneta center, a partnership we are very proud of as it allows us to broaden our horizons further, explained Ennio Soccal, president of the Comitato Alpago 2 Ruote & Solidarietà. Collaboration is the key word of the Tour: collaboration with institutions, primarily the Municipality of Alpago, with companies whose support allows all registration proceeds to be donated to Via di Natale, Cucchini, and Alpago Solidale, and with volunteers, without whose wonderful work nothing could be accomplished.
In the twentieth anniversary of our association and the thirtieth anniversary of the Lake Tour, concluded Soccal, we hope to surpass the record participation of 5,049 participants, set in 2019.
