A reflection on Dante centred on Giorgio Manacorda‘s latest book, La materia del paradiso. Appunti per un poema impossibile, published by Elliot.
For Società Dante Alighieri Comitato di Treviso President Maria Giuseppina Vincitorio: A special event that frames the initiatives of the Comitato Dante Treviso for the
Dante year and that brings together two literary critics, Dante lovers to present the work of Giorgio Manacorda, poet and scholar, a rewriting of the classics, a profound
dialogue with Dante in search of the meaning of life. Our thanks go to the ‘Amici di Comisso’ Association and Assindustria Veneto Centro for this occasion of virtuous synergy in the name
of love for Dante and culture.
It is a cultural opportunity of great interest – says Ennio Bianco, President of the Association ‘Amici di Comisso’ – that sees three great intellectuals together in Treviso, who
together will accompany us to get to know, and discover, new aspects of Dante’s poetry. I would like to thank the Società Dante Alighieri of Treviso and Assindustria Venetocentro for their
collaboration, which I hope will find new occasions to promote together initiatives dedicated to the best literary culture of our country.

I give in and let myself imagine
what Paradise would be like if there were
someone with the engine stopped at the centre
in this game to the superior entity,
but I follow you, I follow you beyond Hell
and Purgatory, I see in your book
my religio as a disease
of the animals in death dead
as if they were stones or pawns
on the chessboard of human heads.
