(AVN) – Venice, September 12, 2024. The drop of water, which flows from the Pettorina stream, in the upper Agordino area, through the bed of the Piave River and reaches Venice, is the theme of the journey at the center of Mar de Molada: the event conceived by Marco Paolini, supported by the Veneto Region and Veneto Agricoltura, to do civil prevention.

The first event in the fields of Malga Ciapela, near the Serrai di Sottoguda (Rocca Pietore, Belluno), due to the cold weather that is affecting the Marmolada these days and that will bring rain, possibly snow, temperatures even below zero and gusts of cold wind, has been moved from Saturday at 7:30 a.m. to Sunday, Septempber 15 in the late morning, when the weather for an outdoor show will be more clement. The Stravedo, the conversation between Marco Paolini and climatologist Elisa Palazzi about factors affecting the state of glaciers and the future availability of water resources is scheduled for 11 a.m., while the actual show will be staged at 12 noon.

From the Marmolada to Venice, from the mountains to the sea: this tale will take us on a discovery of a fragile territory, where water marks and determines the sustainable, social, but also economic development of the Veneto region. The importance of the water resource and its management is an extremely topical issue: we hear the word drought more often, but also, of diametrically opposite scenarios when intense phenomena are the cause of environmental catastrophes – comments the President of the Region, Luca Zaia -. Mar de Molada was born with the purpose of doing prevention in the true sense of the term, thanks to a modern and also scientific message related to the protection of the environment and its preservation.

Together with Marco Paolini there will be the women of the Coro delle Cicale, directed by Giuseppina Casarin, and a popular choir with the function of the Greek chorus, formed by citizens who have been preparing for months with theatrical workshops, coordinated by Farmacia Zooè in which artists Sandra Mangini and Rajeev Badhan will also participate. Also on stage will be Patrizia Laquidara, one of the most appreciated singer-songwriters on the national scene who has dedicated a large part of her artistic research to water, and Giovanni Frison, a multifaceted instrumentalist and author of the original music.

MAR de MOLADA is a project conceived by Marco Paolini for La Fabbrica del Mondo, made with the support of Regione del Veneto, Veneto Agricoltura, organized by Arteven Circuito Multidisciplinare Regionale and produced by Jolefilm, sponsored by Autorità di Bacino, Dipartimento di Protezione Civile, Federbim, Provinces of Belluno and Treviso, Municipalities of Rocca Pietore, Sospirolo, Pederobba and Caorle, University of Padua, Veneto Institute of Sciences, Letters and Arts, Ca’ Foscari University Venice.
