It is true that the data certifies a boom in the creation of companies operating in the construction industry, but this should not be misleading because today the building industry is
unfortunately hamstrung by a series of factors that weigh heavily on the sector and also hinder the effect of the Superbonus.
This is how Mario Pozza, President of Unioncamere Veneto, comments on the data from Movimprese, conducted by Unioncamere and InfoCamere, on the data from the Register of Companies of the
Chambers of Commerce, which presents a focus on the construction sector.
It is clear that some government measures have given a boost to this sector, creating expectations from the entrepreneurial point of view. Today, however, the construction industry has to
deal with the exponential increase in the cost of raw materials and the difficulty of finding them, plus the soaring cost of energy. The result is that an estimate may already be out of date
after 15 days because of the constant increases that companies have to deal with. However, these are not the only problems in the sector, as there is a shortage of skilled workers and bureaucracy
that slows down the opening of construction sites. It is clear that this mix of factors weighs heavily on businesses, the sector and its allied industries, which include around 30 related
professions.
The creation of new companies, – concluded President Pozza, – is a positive sign because it underlines the desire to invest in the sector, but these companies must then
be able to stand up and be competitive. The construction industry is a driving force behind our GDP and at this stage, with the Superbonus and the race for sustainability, it has great
opportunities, but it must be put in a position to seize them.
