We want to combat the flight of our young people abroad, and we are doing so also with this announcement. Entrepreneurship, that of small and very small businesses, is the backbone of our region’s economy. It is a model that continues to prove successful, ensuring that the Veneto region can ring up continuous records for GDP, production and exports. One of the elements that can ensure that these records are maintained, if not improved, is the system of businesses made up of young people aged 18 to 35. In a context of demographic change, preserving and incentivizing youth entrepreneurship is a key challenge for the Veneto. Their presence is a guarantee that our economy is viable and has a future. This is why the region will continue to support young people who choose to become entrepreneurs.
This is how Regional Councillor for Economic Development Roberto Marcato announces the council’s approval of the new call for youth entrepreneurship that will open on March 5. It is a call with a budget of 2 million euros intended to promote and support small and medium-sized youth enterprises in the craft, industry, trade and services sectors promoted by the Veneto Region through the Department of Economic Development.
The resources amount to 2 million euros, allocated by the Regional Council for young entrepreneurs who decide to invest, in Veneto, in the creation of new economic activities or the development and consolidation of existing activities. The grant, in the form of a non-repayable contribution, is equal to 30 percent of the reported eligible expenditure for the implementation of the project.
Beneficiaries of the grant from the call are SMEs in the craft, industry, trade and service sectors that fall into one of the following types: sole proprietorships whose owners are between 18 and 35 years of age; companies and cooperatives whose members are at least 60 percent people between 18 and 35 years of age or whose share capital is at least two-thirds held by people in that age group. These requirements must be in place as of February 2, 2024.
Applications for support must be completed and submitted exclusively electronically through the Veneto Region’s Unified Information System for Unified Programming (SIU) from 10 a.m. March 5 until noon March 19, 2024.
