Treviso, 04 August 2022 – The scorching summer does not stop the work of the artistic direction of the Mario del Monaco Theatre for the programming of the new Treviso opera and
concert season, which will open on 16 October with an opera gala in memory of the famous tenor whose name it bears. An exceptional cast has been chosen to celebrate the 40th anniversary of

dramatic roles in opera literature, the talented mezzo-soprano Daniela Barcellona, Ramon Vargas among the most important contemporary tenors, the soprano Lana Kos, who made her debut
at the tender age of 17 in the role of the Queen of the Night in Mozart’s The Magic Flute and has now made her debut on the most important stages in the world, Vladimir Stoyanov, a tenor

of rediscovery and reappraisal of this great artist. Together with the renowned performers active on the international scene, starting with those linked to the city of Treviso and its theatre, the
soprano Francesca Pia Vitale and tenor Davide Tuscano, who were proclaimed winners of the 50th “Toti Dal Monte” International Singers’ Competition last 11 June, will also be on
stage. Accompanying the arias and duets will be the Orchestra Regionale Filarmonia Veneta conducted by Maestro Gianluca Martinenghi.
Mario Del Monaco (1915 – 1982) is still considered one of the greatest Italian tenors of all time, a leading figure on the international opera scene from his early beginnings in the 1940s
until the late 1970s. At the end of an extraordinary career that led him to perform in the most important theatres in the world, he chose to live in Treviso where, until his death, he devoted
himself passionately to teaching.
