The restaurant bar Da Jenny and the Osteria al Contadino have received the coveted regional recognition as “historic shops“.
The restaurant bar Da Jenny in viale Istria and the Osteria al Contadino in viale Matteotti in Conegliano have recently received from the president of Ascom-Confcommercio Conegliano and
Councillor Yuri Dario the coveted award decreed by the Veneto Region, reserved for businesses with 50 years of history that have distinguished themselves in the commercial sector.
With these two awards,- explains Maurizio Gibin, president of Ascom Conegliano, – the city of Conegliano has no fewer than 12 businesses recognised as historic places of
commerce by the Region. It is an excellent result, at a time when commerce is facing the digital revolution, to see that our historic, typical activities, which cultivate traditions and have
been able to resist the pandemic, are recognised, fills us with pride. The historic places of commerce are living stages of a city that pulsates, that tells its own story, that stands out in the
tourist scene.
The pride and satisfaction of these two awards is also confirmed by the newly-appointed councillor for commerce and productive activities, Yuri Dario: – having these excellent
establishments in our city obviously gives us great pleasure and it is our intention to work to support small-scale neighbourhood and local commerce.
The Osteria al Contadino dates back to the end of the 19th century, while Bar da Jenny was once known as Bar della siora Emma, which opened near the Zoppas plant and was
very popular.
The other activities recognised as historic places of commerce in Conegliano are: Pasticceria Alpago, Valigeria Marisa, Ristorante Caffè Al Salisà, Calzoleria Cancian, Pasticceria
Firmino, Caffè al Teatro, Gioielleria Orologeria Carlo Bottega, Trattoria Stella, Bar Ristorante Belvedere Al Castello, Mode Antonella.
