Treviso, Jan. 29, 2024. The memorandum of understanding between the Chamber of Commerce and the City of Treviso for the economic and tourism revitalization of the city has been signed.
As ex officio members of the steering committee of the ODG – Cities of Art and Venetian Villas and as promoting entities, the Chamber of Commerce and the Municipality of Treviso share a common vision on the values of the tourism economy and the strategic operation of the functions of competence carried out through the Marca Treviso Participation Foundation.
The agreement foresees that Marca Treviso Foundation, also as the current operational arm of the OGD, may take on a new guise and a new associative structure, with a governance that is expected to be totally public participation, to ensure an increasingly effective managerial and operational management of the OGD and of the related resources made available by the participating entities, for all the tourism promotion activities of the entire Marca Trevigiana territory. The Chamber of Commerce and the Municipality of Treviso are also working closely together in the area of Territorial Marketing as an asset for tourism development and economic growth, with the enhancement of the historical-artistic heritage, the organization of major events and the strengthening of the tourist image of the city of Treviso and its territory for which the Municipality of Treviso is providing 2million euros and the Chamber of Commerce 300 thousand euros in total (100 thousand annually). Among the actions that see the Chamber of Commerce and the Municipality of Treviso in close collaboration, the urban redevelopment of the strategic Piazza Borsa area and the Chamber’s headquarters considered of absolute interest for the benefit of a better service to businesses given the possible sharing of space for the municipal offices of the Productive Activities Service.
Today we are renewing an important agreement that seals the synergy with the Chamber of Commerce of Treviso Belluno Dolomites – says the mayor of Treviso Mario Conte – I thank the Chamber of Commerce for always being involved and present with its support to the initiatives put on the table for the promotion of the City that over the years have given concrete results in terms of attractiveness and attendance. Also through these types of commitment an idea of a city that looks to the future is shared, and that is why this path continues, which goes hand in hand with the project for the redevelopment and modernization of the building that houses the headquarters of the Chamber of Commerce.
The Chamber of Commerce is not only a financial lever – President Mario Pozza communicates – but an active participant in the strategy for the strengthening of the tourist action of Treviso and the territory, given the excellent results achieved, in fact, between January and November there were counted what 180 thousand arrivals in the city (between tourists and foreigners) with an increase of +36% over the same period of the previous year. The synergy between the Chamber of Commerce and the Municipality is fundamental – reiterates the President – for the development of our city and therefore of the entire province. It is’ important to share unified policies and territorial marketing strategies that go in this direction.
