Berlin, 21st November 2018. On the invitation of the Italian Embassy in Berlin, ICE and the Italian Chamber of Commerce for Germany, President Pozza has participated to the second
edition of the Italian-German Conference on Innovation, leading the Italian delegation of National Unioncamere. Together with the delegates Roberto Crosta – Secretary-General, Gabbato Giandomenico
– vicar Vice President, Consuelo Puricelli – Cà Foscari Foundation, they have discussed about digital transformation in the European public and private sectors. Italy and Germany
are engaged in the challenge of the public sector digitalization, with the 2017-2019 ICT Triennial Plan and the Digital Strategy 2025 respectively: both programs have been designed for sustaining
the development of infrastructures able to support investments and innovation in both Countries.

I would like to assure foreign investors that Italy is at the forefront of smart politics for a digital Europe. In particular, – informs Pozza – the Chambers System is
all along, and not just today, protagonist in innovation aiming at the digitalization of services and information about enterprises. The Business Register is a digital database
even more connected with European registers, and source of big data and digital applications for all companies.
Talking about the Italian Business System, even if for many Italian entrepreneurs digital is a resource that is spreading in their business processes and products – continues President
Pozza – there is a situation where 4 out of 10 entrepreneurs still think that there is no digital need for the growth of their business. This is a belief that the Chambers System necessarily
want to correct in order to relaunch the Italian economy, by standing beside companies for the development of digital culture and practice. First of all, becoming digital with the services offered
on the front line, regarding the Italian Digital Agenda and the simplification.

It is about digital identity, electronic payments and invoicing, digital innovation and e-government services to enterprises, proceedings
simplification by means of single points of contact for production activities in Italian municipalities, digital establishment of innovative start-ups and creation
of the company IT dossier.

With regard to education, the “Eccellenze in digitale” project is the widest program realized by the Chambers – in cooperation with Google – to sustain SMEs digitalization, by
providing targeted digital competencies and tools to more than 11 thousand companies in 4 years. In the same way the “Crescere in Digitale” project, the first Italian
national plan supporting the young people employment
realized by the Chambers on the Ministry of Labour indication.
Today, the Chambers of Commerce are strongly involved in the territorial implementation of the “4.0 Industry National Plan”. The Plan offers several tools and taxation instruments
supporting investments and expenditure in Research & Development, involving all sectors from agriculture, to industry, to craftsmanship, to services.

In order to pursue such objective and the companies’ needs, a “4.0 Industry National Network” has been designed. It consists of several contact points able to accompany and support
the digital transformation of the Italian production system.

The first support takes place by means of 88 “Punti Impresa Digitale” (PID), which role is to guide companies towards Digital Innovation Hubs, Digital enterprise Ecosystems and
Competence Centers that are bodies of the network offering support to enterprises in the realization of much complex industrial research and experimental development projects.

Regarding the development of 4.0 supply chains, I would like to thank the Italian Embassy in Berlin, ICE, and the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Germany – highlights Pozza
– for the organization of this essential second event aiming at assessing the situation of the international dimension of the actions that in my opinion needs to be reinforced.
Together with the President of Confindustria Digitale Elio Catania, we have scheduled for next year an experimental cross-associations event about the trade exchange with
Germany.
I would like to thank the Undersecretary Mattia Fantinati for the initiatives of the Italian Government,
for which the Chambers System will give full
support.
