Sport is ethics, sacrifice, respect for rules and sharing. These are all messages that we want young people to tell, against the backdrop of a great event that will mark their lives: our
children will be the generation of the Milan-Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
This is how the Regional Councillor for Education, Training and Labour Elena Donazzan spoke at the presentation of the project “Generation 2026 – Sport Powered by Youth and Education”
aimed at young people in 2026 will actively live the experience of the Milan-Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The project is promoted by the Veneto Region, the Chamber of Commerce of
Treviso – Belluno|Dolomiti, the Regional School Office and implemented by FICTS Fédération Internationale Cinéma Télévision Sportifs, the only Federation in the sector recognised by the IOC.
The people of Veneto, in particular, will be those young people who in the future years of their adult lives will remember this historic moment for sport as their own – continued
Donazzan -. A moment that we want to be as participatory as possible. Participating in the Olympics does not only mean competing, but also cheering on your country, expressing affection
for your heroes and taking pride in a victory when Italy is on the top step of the podium. This sense of belonging can be nurtured and rebuilt: and we will do so through the language of
contemporaneity, with videos, drawings, and in-depth studies, through which the children will be able to actively participate in the next Winter Olympics 2026.
Starting from the beginning of the school year in September 2021, the project will be developed in three phases: from the educational phase with many inter-school sports and training
activities for young people from primary and secondary schools, to the sports-cultural phase and the promotion and attraction phase for territories and companies.
These are the words released during the presentation of the project, which took place on 26 May 2021.
