Recent migratory and pandemic crises and conflicts have highlighted the need for timely and detailed official information and data capable of responding effectively to new and unprecedented needs. These statistics are also crucial for guiding decisions beyond national borders on issues such as social cohesion, economic growth and the need to combat climate change. It is crucial to obtain credible, timely and comparable data to enhance the value of European statistics. At the same time, it is equally crucial to ensure the quality and security of the data that is made available.
The Festival will host four days of comparisons, dialogues, readings, workshops, performances and activities that, starting from solid evidence, will aim to promote greater awareness on the part of non-experts and dialogue between the various scientific and professional communities.Statistics without Frontiers also means breaking down the barriers between statistics and other disciplines and knowledge such as medicine, economics, social sciences and engineering. It is an inescapable path to address the challenges posed by Big Data and Artificial Intelligence, Sustainability Strategy and Cybersecurity.
There will be two main venues at the Festival where different formats and proposals designed for audiences interested in statistics will alternate: Piazza dei Signori, which will host StatisticAllPop activities, and Piazza Borsa with StatisticAllSpeech.
Also this year, the Festival’s opening night will be held at the Mario Del Monaco Theatre, which will be a celebration of the ten-year journey so far. For future generations there will be StatisticAllYoung, which will take place at other Festival venues such as the BRaT Library and the Treviso Campus of Ca’ Foscari University of Venice.
