The Chamber of Commerce of Treviso and Belluno has awarded the 2021 edition of the ‘Social Innovation’ prize to the Sviluppo & Lavoro cooperative. The award refers to the project of job
placement in the Belluno prison that Sviluppo & Lavoro has been implementing since 2015, exploiting the collaboration between companies active in the Belluno area and the prison.
The project offers stable employment to several dozen inmates and has enabled some companies to bring back to Italy productions that until recently were made abroad.
Projects of this value are a heritage for all of us and for a territory that has always looked at doing business together with an ethical vision of creating value. Congratulations to the
Sviluppo & Lavoro cooperative, – highlights the President of the Treviso-Belluno Dolomites Chamber, Mario Pozza. – Giving dignity and integrating the man in prison into a new
dimension means creating a constructive environment, giving trust and attention to the person and his skills, perhaps hidden, unknown and now rediscovered and able to give a new future.
The award from the Chamber of Commerce of Treviso and Belluno, – says the president of the Sviluppo & Lavoro cooperative, Gianfranco Borgato, – if on the one hand it fills us with
pride, on the other it certifies the importance of the path we are taking to meet the social and economic reintegration needs of dozens of people. Offering real, honest, paid work is one of the
most valuable tools for ensuring social security and preventing prisoners from falling back into criminal networks once they have served their sentences.
Sviluppo & Lavoro, in collaboration with the prison and its member companies, has created a factory inside the Baldenich prison for printing and cutting cloths for cleaning glasses as well as other
mechanical work. In addition, it has set up a section outside the prison that guarantees continuity of employment for numerous people at the end of their sentences.
