TREVISO – Sustainability and business internationalisation were the focus of the innovative teaching lab CLab InterESG 2024, the result of the close collaboration between Ca’ Foscari University of Venice and the Chamber of Commerce of Treviso – Belluno | Dolomites , the results of which were publicly presented on Monday 20 May in the Aula Magna of Palazzo San Leonardo on the Treviso Campus.

Those present were welcomed by Stefano Soriani, Director of the Treviso Campus, Elena Semenzin, the Rector’s Delegate for Sustainability, and Monica Billio, the project’s scientific manager.

The Deputy Secretary General of the Chamber of Commerce of Treviso – Belluno | Dolomites Francesco Rossato highlighted the value of the collaboration with the University and businesses, and shared data from the Chamber’s Studies and Statistics Office on the export trend in the provinces of Treviso and Belluno.

Alexia Redini, export and innovation manager of Seles, the main teaching partner of the workshop, spoke about the importance of the workshop and the collaborations that have created opportunities and given new opportunities to the students who have put themselves on the line for these important projects.

During the workshop, the participants worked on innovative projects focused on key topics related to sustainability and business internationalisation, focusing on the framework of the European Green Deal (2019) and the UN Agenda 2030.

Thanks to the collaboration of the protagonist companies, the students developed their projects on real cases that specifically involved the local companies Thema Optical, Luisetto Cantieri and Azienda Agricola Cecchetto, offering students the opportunity to directly confront themselves with the real needs of the market.

The closing event was an opportunity to valorise the proposals elaborated by the participating groups and to highlight the positive synergy between the academic and entrepreneurial worlds; in particular, how the study and analysis of business realities with the integration of ESG criteria can be considered, in strategic business and investment decisions, a key factor for the internationalisation process, especially in certain markets.

A significant innovation of the workshop was the introduction of the possibility of obtaining recognition of the workshop hours for the purposes of EXIM Junior certification, according to the UNI 11823:202 standard, recognised by the Italian Bureau of Certification (recognised by Accredia). This recognition further enhances the training course offered by CLab InterESG 2024, opening up new professional opportunities for participants.

The Exotic Team for the company Thema Optical group that presented the best project idea, selected by a committee of experts and teachers, was rewarded with free participation in a further course valid for EXIM Junior certification.
