Treviso, 7 December 2022 – Every day we feed on news, so much news, to the point of indigestion. Hours and hours on digital platforms overwhelmed by the sea of information and often even
fake news that the web feeds us. Often they are not even verified information and news, but when they become the domain of the network they enter a centrifuge that does not stop.
The “Goffredo Parise” school of reporting, now in its third year and aimed at high school students in the province of Treviso, aims to train young people to understand what news is and
how to develop it.
“The making of a reportage is a great lesson that forces us to deploy the resources that are valid for every circumstance in life because it requires method, which is not only technical but
has a lot to do with who we are, or who we want to be, – explains Maria Rosaria Nevola, coordinator of the reportage school – The more interesting, profound, necessary the result
of what we have done, the more we will have set ourselves before our subject with seriousness, precision, ethics; the more we will have verified each of our statements with rigour and will have
known how to respect others, even those who do not think like us”.
New partners and supporters of the school.
The Chamber of Commerce of Treviso – Belluno|Dolomiti will also support the Goffredo Parise Award: “For the importance that reportage journalism represents and for the due recognition
of journalists who risk their work, part of their lives, for the mission of their work, – points out the President of the Chamber of Commerce of Treviso – Belluno|Dolomiti and
Assocamerestero Mario Pozza – The 84 offices in 61 countries of the world, of the Italian chamber system abroad, are important garrisons that I invite you to refer to. I applaud the
special award to young people who are urged to undertake journalistic communication on contemporary issues by deepening sources with critical analysis”.
Also supporting the school are the municipalities of Treviso, Salgareda, Ponte di Piave and Oderzo, the Province of Treviso, Banca Prealpi SanBiagio and the Soroptimist Club of treviso.
The school supports the “Goffredo Parise” national prize for reportage, whose President is the mayor of Salgareda, Andrea Favaretto. Founder and artistic director of the Prize is
Antonio Barzaghi.
Course and prizes.
The course includes three weekends of lessons between December 2022 and February 2023. “The fundamental aspect in this type of project, – Maria Rosaria Nevola emphasises – is
motivation: those who want to participate must do so because they are curious and because they are motivated by the opportunity to approach a profession that is one of the most beautiful in the
world, from which they will emerge richer and more passionate, but aware that commitment and perseverance will be required of them”.
This year the school will be hosted in the conference room of the Chamber of Commerce of Treviso – Belluno|Dolomiti. At the end of the course the students will have to produce a reportage on
environmental issues. All students will receive a certificate of participation and the three works judged best by a special jury will also receive a diploma and a cash prize.
