Learning professional skills through community service, particularly within the Traffic Police subsection of Treviso in Lancenigo, is the goal of the Civil Construction Project. This initiative, integrated into the Annual Training Plan by the Veneto Region, mandates that part of the practical exercises be completed on a public worksite, accounting for a portion of the required 300 hours of training. This opportunity has been seized by the Professional Training Center for Construction in Treviso, a joint operation of the independent section of ANCE Rovigo Treviso of Confindustria Veneto Est and representatives of the Construction Unions. Together, they offer qualification and professional diploma programs for future construction workers.
The project was recently presented in the presence of key figures including Alessandra Simone, Chief of Police of Treviso; Simone Morello, Commander of the Traffic Police of Treviso; Davide Feltrin and Francesco Piavento, President and Director of the Treviso Construction School; Felice Costa, Director of the independent ANCE Rovigo Treviso section of Confindustria Veneto Est; and Paolo Antonello, Head of the Building, Land, Urban Planning, and Transport Area at Confindustria Veneto Est.
The third-year class from the Treviso Construction School, led by Claudia Bressan and guided by professors Alex Camelato and Moreno Favero, conducted restoration and maintenance work in recent weeks on the internal premises and parking areas. This hands-on experience spanned five days.
The partnership between the State Police and the Construction School,- stated Alessandra Simone, Chief of Police of Treviso, has become a well-established collaboration. We are proud to have offered our facilities to support the students in enhancing their skills and creativity.
This is the second project where students from the School collaborate with the Treviso Traffic Police, – said Simone Morello, Commander of the Treviso Traffic Police. We were pleased to offer our offices, as this opportunity enables interaction with young people, through which we aim to provide targeted awareness, training, and communication on road safety and drug prevention.
This is an educational construction site, – explained Davide Feltrin, President of the Treviso Construction School. It represents an alternative approach to conducting practical activities that are usually held within the School’s internal laboratories, allowing students to learn in real-world settings. This method bridges the gap between school and workplace environments. Students are continuously supervised by an instructor assigned by the School, guiding them in a training and orientation path that is, of course, not an employment relationship. However, we do simulate a ‘work assignment’ scenario by a public administration as realistically as possible.
In previous years, – Feltrin added, we collaborated with the Civil Construction Project, not only with the Treviso Traffic Police but also with the municipalities of Treviso, Ponzano Veneto, and Silea. For our Training Center, this is a strategic objective, as it enhances the preparedness of young professionals entering the construction industry while benefiting our communities. I commend our students and their instructors for the excellent results they have achieved.
