More than two years after the signing of the Program Agreement, the Veneto Region, the Teatro Stabile del Veneto and the Accademia Teatrale Veneta draw up the balance of the first
course
in Italy that brings together in a single territory the entire training cycle related to the actor’s profession, offering concrete employment benefits.

More than 10,000 hours of training, of which almost 2000 were carried out with the formula of distance learning, 14 specialization courses started, 16 courses scheduled during
the year. Two new shows and a special project for the 700th anniversary of Dante’s death with the actors of the Compagnia Giovani are about to debut.

Padua, 22nd January 2021 – More than 10 thousand hours of training, of which about 2000 carried out remotely for 1358 students, student actors and professionals of the sector, 50 secondary
schools in the Veneto region involved, 14 specialization courses already started and 16 starting courses, 48 young artists hired for 4 shows, 232 performances and tours in 18 cities on the
stages of Venetian and national theaters.

These are the numbers of the path of the Model Veneto TeSeO Theatre School and Employment, the training program for young talents, real “stage animals”, who want to undertake the actor’s
profession, born in July 2018 from the Program Agreement signed between the Veneto Region and the Teatro Stabile del Veneto, in partnership with Accademia Teatrale Veneta for a
total funding of 2,362,750.00 euros of which 1,535,787.50 allocated by the Veneto Region and 826,962.50 allocated by TSV and the partner ATV.

Distance learning

A continuous commitment that did not stop even during the Covid-19 emergency: in fact, during the months of lockdown, the entire project continued thanks to distance learning. In particular, the
Accademia Teatrale Carlo Goldoni, has distinguished itself as one of the schools in Italy with the highest number of hours of FAD (distance learning) carried out, adapting the programs
according to the needs of the moment.

From January 7, 2021, in-person activities resumed in compliance with safety protocols for the prevention of contagion.

New productions with the Young Company on stage and online

While the closure of theaters to the public has transformed the posters of the Teatro Stabile del Veneto into virtual palimpsests, one of the new productions involving one of the
Compagnia Giovani‘s paths has also been adapted for the web: the show Le regole dell’adolescenza directed by Lorenzo Maragoni and created to be presented live to school audiences,
will debut on February 4 on the digital platform Backstage of the Stabile del Veneto.

In December 2020, moreover, the Divina Commedia project was launched, also supported by the National Committee for the Celebrations of 700 years since the death of Dante Alighieri,
which in 2021 will be produced by the Teatro Stabile del Veneto with the direction of Fabrizio Arcuri and the dramaturgy of Fausto Paravidino (Inferno), Letizia Russo (Purgatorio) and Fabrizio
Sinisi (Paradiso). In May 2021, the production of Sogno di una notte di mezza estate (A Midsummer Night’s Dream) will resume, directed by Giorgio Sangati, a production suspended
last season due to the health emergency and which will debut in the next Estate Teatrale Veronese.

The progress of the project was illustrated this morning at the Verdi Theatre in Padua by Fabio Menin, Director of the Veneto Region’s Training Planning Unit, Giampiero Beltotto,
President of the Teatro Stabile del Veneto, Carlo Mangolini, Head of the Training Area of the Teatro Stabile del Veneto, and Manuela Massimi, President of the Accademia Teatrale Veneta.

In the middle of the journey of our lives, in finding ourselves in this dark forest… we have continued to believe that culture, that the live show, even if at a distance, should be supported
and strengthened – states Councillor Elena Donazzan -. The great intuition built together by the Veneto Region, the Teatro Stabile del Veneto and the Accademia Teateale for the
TeSeO project is once again a winning idea to oversee the world of training and the highest and most qualified employment, ready to start again as soon as the curtain rises. I would like to
remind you that the TeSeO project, of theater, school and employment, has been considered a project of excellence by the European Commission, which even at the last hearing recalled how
innovative training in Veneto in the field of cultural professions has been.

Meeting today is a way to reward the students, the teachers and all the artists for the work they have done and the dedication they have shown, even at such a difficult time for culture and
theater – commented Giampiero Beltotto, president of the Teatro Stabile del Veneto -. It is a sign that investing in the continuing education of our young talents is the only way to
relaunch not only the performing arts sector, but the entire economic system of the territory. Thanks to Councillor Donazzan, the Region and the partners who have believed in this project,
we have brought our young people from their school days to the big stages of the Teatro Stabile del Veneto and many other Italian cities with successful productions and an excellent work of
recovery and enhancement of the commedia dell’arte.
