An organizational machine of which we can be proud – these were the words of the President of the Chamber of Commerce of Treviso – Belluno|Dolomites, Mario Pozza -. I was able to
see for myself when I went to Cortina and saw how the whole territory is guarded and people are accompanied and protected.
There are 70 nations with their own delegations of athletes and staff at a time of global pandemic, but the territory responds and welcomes them in absolute safety, offering an all-Italian
welcome. These are proofs of a world championship that set in motion an organizational machine that will see Cortina 2026 even more prepared and determined.
The Chamber of Commerce is already working on it. There are projects in the pipeline and on paper. There are agreements with civil and military institutions to create an efficient, innovative
and digital network.
My compliments go to the Provincial Command of the Carabinieri of Belluno who are manning the territory and have been able to excite the whole world by carrying the tricolor flag on the day of
the start of “Cortina 2021”. To them and to the contribution they give to the World Cup and constantly to the whole national sport, my heartfelt thanks. We can assure the International Olympic
Committee, which is following this World Championship with attentive eyes, that we are in good hands – concluded Pozza.
The Alpine Skiing World Championships in Cortina d’Ampezzo are a complex event that must be managed with an integrated program of resources to face any unforeseen event.
More than 70 delegations from the most disparate nations to be managed in the midst of a pandemic, alone, constitute a great challenge from the point of view of organization – assured the
Commander of the Carabinieri of Belluno Lt. Colonel Francesco Rastelli.
In this not exactly easy scenario, the Carabinieri have taken up the challenge, as have other state institutions, and have contributed.
