The ancient Strada del Prosecco e Vini dei Colli Conegliano-Valdobbiadene (Prosecco and Wine Route of the Conegliano-Valdobbiadene Hills) is once again proposing “Visit Cantina”, an initiative that, starting on 10 February and continuing throughout 2024, will offer the opportunity to visit estates, vineyards and wine cellars, talking with the owners and tasting iconic wines, not only Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore Docg and Cartizze Superiore Docg, but also Red and White wines of Colli di Conegliano Docg, Torchiato di Fregona Docg, Refrontolo passito Docg and Verdiso Igt.
Opening the gates and doors will be a large group of members of the Route, who have made themselves available to tell their story, which inevitably fits into the broader narrative of a land that has always stood out for the generosity of its fruit and biodiversity; this is why the wines, like the small local productions, stand out for their unique and inimitable nuances of taste.
Around seventy wineries will offer tastings available on the portal of the Association that conceived the event in 2009, improving it from year to year to bring it closer to the desires of winelovers attracted by the beauty of the UNESCO Hills, the numerous historic residences – castles abbeys, restaurants, taverns – that nestle along the more than ninety kilometres of scenic route and the uniqueness of the Prosecco and Wine Route of the Conegliano-Valdobbiadene Hills, which holds the record as Italy’s longest-running wine route (inaugurated in 1966).
It will be up to the visitor to choose the date and place of the visit, thanks to the updated calendar available on the website (https://www.coneglianovaldobbiadene.it/visit-cantina-valdobbiadene) and to a map that allows a quick and useful geolocation of the locations.
The “Visit Cantina” initiative also complements the broader proposal offered by the Prosecco Road to enjoy unique, original experiences such as vineyard visits, Vespa tours, Spa & Wellness, food & wine and much more. To stay up-to-date, visit the “Experiences to Live” section of the website.
