Cison di Valmarino, 28 May 2022 – The first day of the first special edition of Mirabilia was held today. This is the international event the Veneto region is hosting Mirabilia, the
European network of Unesco sites entitled “Sustainability: an element of competitiveness?“, which will see national and international Unesco delegations, the national chamber of commerce
system, and business representatives at Castelbrando to share projects for a sustainable economy to promote the economic system.
Saturday opened with a guided tour of Castelbrando, a magnificent castle located in the municipality of Cison di Valmarino (Treviso) that has been restored and turned into a hospitality business
with every innovative comfort.
We are delighted to welcome to Castelbrando – said Massimo and Ivana Colomban –
this international event that focuses on the beauty of Unesco sites together with
the receptive works that man creates, preserves and manages. The desire is to administer what has been handed down to us, restoring with respect for the work and with the advantage of technology
and every comfort to make visitors from all over the world feel ‘at home’. To our guests, and to the Chamber of Commerce that chose our facility, we wish them the best experience.
This was followed in the afternoon by a visit to the Cistercian Abbey of Santa Maria di Follina, one of the most outstanding examples of late-Romanesque architecture tending towards Gothic,
present in the Marca Trevigiana, and the Pieve di San Pietro di Feletto, which dates back to the year one thousand and was already a meeting place for the faithful in the 7th and 8th
centuries.
New discoveries in the area are planned in the coming days.
We want to create an itinerary that crosses the territory and narrates it, to welcome the Mirabilia delegation in a whole that is already an international promotion – points out the
President of the Chamber of Commerce of Treviso – Belluno and Unioncamere Veneto Mario Pozza.
On Sunday 29 May 2022, the Mirabilia delegation is scheduled to meet in the majestic hall of the Palazzo dei Trecento, and we will be welcomed by the Mayor of Treviso Mario Conte.
We will take the guests on a guided tour of the city of art of Treviso.
The day will continue – informs the President – with a tasting of typical products at the Confraternita di Valdobbiadene. Following this, the delegation will have the privilege of being
welcomed by the director, Dr. Moira Mascotto, who will lead the guests on a discovery of Canova with a visit to the Antonio Canova Gypsotheca Museum in Possagno.
This will be followed on Monday 30th and Tuesday 31st May 2022 respectively: the opening of the works with the plenary meeting and the Mirabilia members’ assembly, and the working tables on
the themes Tourism enterprises: which tools for sustainability and The institutions of the tourism system: innovative models, between conservation and sustainable and circular economic development
of Unesco sites.
And finally the closing of proceedings on Tuesday 31st May with the final conference and a special delivery.
