On Monday 25th January starts the first of seven live streaming meetings to promote financial education among students in the schedule of digital events dedicated to secondary
schools in the Veneto region as part of the campaign ‘The Future Counts‘.
This is an initiative promoted by the Veneto Region, with the Veneto Regional School Office and FEduF, the Foundation for Financial Education and Savings, founded on the
initiative of the Italian Banking Association to spread financial education in a perspective of conscious citizenship and economic legality.
In Italy we have a problem of general knowledge of the financial system, which risks becoming more acute in moments of particular economic crisis, such as the current one – explains
Elena Donazzan, Regional Councillor for Education and Training of the Veneto Region -. This project of financial literacy, wanted so smart and appealing in 2019 by the Region with the
Regional School Office and FEduF, assumes today an even more relevant meaning, given that our kids are closed at home and, basically, always busy on the net where the risk is higher, also with
regard to the awareness of their purchasing power and the dynamics related to it.
We believe – concludes the councillor – that with a greater awareness and a deeper knowledge our young people will be stronger and able to defend themselves.
The ‘Digital Live Talks‘ developed by FEduF together with the scientific divulgation company Taxi1729 will take place between January 25 and February 26 and
represent an innovative format of divulgation, created to introduce young people to the main financial issues that affect our daily lives, which have a strong impact on our individual choices,
our family, our dreams and our future, but of which all too often we do not know the most important mechanisms.
The first meeting, scheduled for Monday, January 25 and entitled “Us or them: this is the dilemma“, is dedicated to the theme of sustainability and the moral dilemmas
connected to it and will see the participation of 9 schools for a total of 374 students.
