Ready to become judges of the “best tiramisu in the world”? With just over a month to go before the event, the Tiramisù World Cup is launching selections in search of one hundred tasters who
will decide who will be the 2021 winner of the most delicious challenge of the year.
You must pass the September exam to become a judge of the Tiramisù World Cup: study the rules! – This is the invitation from Twissen, organiser of the event, to aspiring tasters who
from today will be able to attempt to pass the online test to be part of the 2021 jury of the “greediest challenge of the year.
While the two hundred places available to take part in the competition are almost sold out (

places on the selection days), from 3 September to 13 September it is possible to take part in the contest to be part of the popular jury of the Tiramisù World Cup to be held in Treviso, in
Piazza dei Signori, on 8, 9 and 10 October.
The hundred competitors who are the fastest and most prepared in answering the questions will be awarded the role of tasters of the two hundred recipes in the competition, including both original
and creative desserts: the one hundred “promoted” will be called to evaluate the desserts in the selection phase (8 and 9 October, ed.); from the semi-finals a jury of experts will decide who can
boast the title of Champion.
For a place on the panel of judges it is necessary to pass an online test of fifteen questions concerning Tiramisu, its history and the competition rules, with specific cases to be solved
that may occur during the competition.
The criteria that the judges will have to adopt (you can find all the info on
www.tiramisuworldcup.com) remain the same, already
approved by the Italian Academy of Cuisine:
the technical execution: a vote for the organisation of the table, the cleanliness, the management of the ingredients, the executive ability;
the aesthetic presentation: assesses the appearance, layout of the dish, decorations and final aesthetic appeal;
Flavour intensity: assesses the strength and permanence of the taste in the mouth;
balance of the dish: assesses the balance between the ingredients used;
Flavour and harmony: assesses the pleasantness, intensity and harmony of the flavours (correct dosage of the ingredients).
In addition to the title of Champion, the Hausbrandt Award is also assigned, for the best use of coffee in the tasting and the Pavesini Award (assessed by the Barilla Academy Judge),
which analyses the harmony of taste and the perception of lightness, given by the preparation technique, the structure and consistency of the ingredients, the presentation and the appearance.
