On Thursday 27th January (8.30 p.m.), music returns to the stage of the Mario Del Monaco Theatre with the first concert of the 2022 season featuring the violin of Domenico
Nordio
and the piano of Orazio Sciortino.
The two famous musicians will perform in a concert in which the relationship between past and present, between the new and the ancient is the fil rouge that binds the pieces on the
programme: if Dallapiccola, with Tarantina Seconda, recounts his time through dance forms and ancient polyphonic techniques, Brahms, with his Sonata op. 100, but also with the impetuous Scherzo of
the Sonata FAE, does so by combining formal rigour and liederistic intimacy. Finally, Prokofiev will close the programme with his Sonata op.80, one of the greatest masterpieces of the 20th century,
emblematic for its granitic structure and expressive impact.
Domenico Nordio is one of the acclaimed Italian musicians of our time, a former child prodigy who has performed in the most prestigious halls, while Orazio Sciortino, pianist and
composer, collaborates with important Italian and foreign musical institutions.
With the first concert of 2022, the traditional appointments of Oltre la scena resume: at 8.00 p.m. in the Sala del Ridotto there will be an introduction to the concert conducted by Elena Filini.
