First selection at Mario Del Monaco Theatre: after two days of auditions, 27 competitors of the 107 opera singers admitted to the auditions of the 49th edition of the
international competition promoted by the Municipality of Treviso and by the Teatro Stabile del Veneto will move on to the next round. On June 9 and 10 the singers will perform arias and concert
pieces from Gaetano Donizetti‘s Don Pasquale.

This competition – confirms Giorgio Benati, president of the Jury – has been the beginning of brilliant careers. For this reason, those who will win must demonstrate not only vocal
mastery, but also scenic, musical and cultural mastery. Understand the style and, since it is a brilliant repertoire, exhibit a guarded diction.
The international commission chaired by Benati is composed of Mariella Devia, Evamaria Wieser, Roberto Scandiuzzi, Giancarlo Andretta, Federico Faggion, Luigi Puxeddu and Stefano
Canazza. On June 9 and 10, the contestants will work on arias and concerted pieces from the competition opera, Don Pasquale by Gaetano Donizetti.
On Thursday evening will be announced the names of the competitors who will access to the final open to the public, scheduled for Saturday, June 12 at 6:00 pm and presented by the RAI
anchorwoman and journalist Eleonora Daniele with the extraordinary participation of the Regional Orchestra Filarmonia Veneta.
To participate in the final is possible to book in the box office of the Theatre Mario dal Monaco or online on the website of the Teatro Stabile del Veneto.
During the final will be awarded the special prize Paolo Silveri. The award, to the youngest deserving baritone in the competition, will be assigned by the jury and delivered by Silvia
Silveri, musician and daughter of the famous opera singer.
