Uncem organises with Legambiente on Wednesday 21 February at 4.30 p.m., a webinar on Renewable and Solidarity Energy Communities, an important tool for mountain areas to reduce “energy poverty”, reorganise the relationship between energy production and consumption, build new cohesion and collaboration pacts between communities. The CERs are inside many Italian Green Communities Strategies and as Uncem discover with the territories guidelines and opportunities for the birth and growth of Energy Communities in light of the CER Decree of the MASE, 414 of 7 December 2023, published on 23 January 2024.
Energy Communities are the focus of much attention today from many companies, large and small, dealing with energy. Uncem has repeatedly stated that we are inside a ‘bubble’ of interest and also very strong pressures to implement them, not always according to effective models and with the full involvement of the territories. Together with Legambiente, Uncem will take stock of the use of the CER instrument, inserting them within the development plans of Green Communities [which Uncem coordinates through the ITALIAE project with the Department for Regional Affairs and Autonomies], strategies broader than the CERs themselves, necessary to meet the challenges of the climate and demographic crisis that mountains face. Avoiding new colonisation, improvised enterprises, braggarts, illusions, is the first objective for local authorities. Making good use of more than EUR 2.2 billion of PNRR for new plants producing energy from renewable sources is the second urgent need in the interest of the country and countries.
