Executive Vice-President Valdis Dombrovskis will be in Zagreb, Croatia today where he will deliver a keynote speech and participate at a
conference on Croatia’s path towards joining the euro area. He will use the visit as an opportunity for a series of bilateral meetings, including with Andrej Plenković, Prime Minister
of Croatia; Zdravko Marić, Minister of Finance of Croatia; Boris Vujčić, Governor of Croatian National Bank; Gordan Jandrokovic, Speaker of Croatian Parliament, and; members of
the National Council for the Introduction of the Euro.
The visit follows the signature last week of an agreement with
Croatia on practical steps for the start of euro coin production. The signature represents an important milestone in Croatia’s efforts to join the euro area.
