EYE Intern “Spotted” at Università Cattolica Alumni Event

Chiara Mascitti has an EYE toward success! Chiara is currently taking part in our Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs (EYE) program as an intern at Sally Fischer Public Relations, an international boutique-style public relations firm in the lifestyle arena. IACC Executive Director Federico Tozzi caught up with Chiara at a recent Università Cattolica alumni event at NYU’s Kimmel Hall. Chiara told us that her work at Sally Fischer has given her hands-on experience with the American approach to media relations, publicity, social media, special events, marketing, and brand management. She’s looking forward to applying her new skill sets and cultural competencies when she returns to Italy to continue her career in PR.

IACC Joins Forces with National Grocers Association

The IACC has entered into an official partnership with National Grocers Association (NGA), the trade association representing the independent supermarket industry. The partnership between NGA and the IACC will include participation in conferences, professional development opportunities, and sharing of knowledge and expertise in the fields of specialty food/beverage and grocery retail.

The IACC’s partnership with NGA opens exciting new avenues, not only for our two associations, but for the members, grocers and local producers we represent. With this strategic alliance, we are essentially creating a direct line of contact between the U.S.’s leading independent grocery retailers and local Italian suppliers, providing retailers and producers alike with the opportunity to make inroads into previously unexplored and untapped markets. NGA President and CEO Greg Ferrara and five NGA member retailers are currently in Bresia, Italy, taking part in the second edition of the IACC’s America Buys Italian B2B specialty food summit.

Lewis Brisbois Shares Expertise on Proposed New York Limited Liability Transparency Act
IACC member Frank Cerza, Partner and Co-Chair of Real Estate & Land Use at Lewis Brisbois, recently authored an informative article on the proposed New York Limited Liability Transparency Act which would require the disclosure of the beneficial owners of both domestic and foreign LLCs that are registered to conduct business in the State of New York.

While there is no certainty regarding Governor Hochul’s endorsement of the LLC Transparency Act, LLCs already operating in, or intending to do business in New York should be prepared for this potential reporting requirement. By engaging in proactive planning, LLC owners can be better prepared for compliance and the potential chilling impact resulting from the enactment of the LLC Transparency Act.
