Fonte: ufficio stampa Press release European Commission

The European Commission has approved, under the EU Merger Regulation, the acquisition of Genesee & Wyoming Australia (GWA) of Australia by the PGGM group of the Netherlands and the Macquarie group of Australia. GWA is active in the provision and operation of freight rail transport services in Australia. PGGM is a global provider of pension fund services. Macquarie is a global financial group and provider of investment services in the infrastructure, real estate, agriculture and energy markets for institutional investors.

The Commission concluded that the proposed acquisition would raise no competition concerns, as GWA has no actual or foreseen activity within the European Economic Area. The transaction was examined under the simplified merger review procedure.

More information is available on the Commission's competition website, in the public case register under the case number M.9567
