IACC and Manhattan Chamber of Commerce members gathered for virtual networking event in celebration of Cinco de Mayo. Participants had the opportunity to meet and mingle with members of both organizations in a series of breakout networking groups and were treated to the musical stylings of DJ Herbert Holler. |

U.S. Immigration Amid COVID-19’S Special Circumstances - May 8, 2020 |
On May 8, IACC member Maggio + Kattar held a complimentary webinar entitled "U.S. Immigration Amid COVID-19’S Special Circumstances: Restrictions and Recommendations" for IACC members.
Managing Shareholder Jim Alexander and Of Counsel Giulia Principe discussed the steps that businesses should take in order to comply with U.S. immigration law while navigating the rapidly changing environment caused by the spread of COVID-19 through communities in the U.S. and around the world. This discussion addressed important topics such as changes to nonimmigrant visa processing after the spread of COVID-19, President Trump's April Executive Order, changes in USCIS adjudication and consular visa processing, best practices for preparing visa applications and recommendations for employers managing expatriates. Alexander and Principe also answered individual questions from participants. |

Looking Ahead - May 12, 2020 |
On May 12, Buzztech Founder and CEO Gianandrea Facchini led "Looking Ahead," an informative program which examined how human purchasing habits have changed since the onset of the pandemic and how e-commerce will respond to demand once the current crisis has abated.
The conversation was informed by Buzztech's "AHEAD" market research study, which was conducted in collaboration with BeReady, IULM Univeristy and CECOMS (Center for Strategic Communication). This important study focuses on "listening" to online conversations in the following categories: food, luxury, transportation, banking and finance. |

Incentives from the Cares Act – FAQ and Discussion - May 15, 2020 |
On May 15, IACC member KPMG hosted "Incentives from the Cares Act – FAQ and Discussion," a webinar that addressed taxpayers’ most common questions about the Cares Act, as well as what KPMG considers to be the incentives most often overlooked by companies.
Experts from KPMG shared experience and suggestions developed while helping companies maximize the incentives provided by the Cares Act and spoke about transfer pricing challenges arising from business disruptions.
Participants had the opportunity to ask specific questions related to their businesses in addition to learning more about the incentives available as a result of the challenges brought about by COVID-19. |

Is Your Liquidity at Risk? - May 20, 2020 |
On May 20, attendees participated in a one-hour webinar led by IACC member Serge Sondak, President & CEO of Gloren Consulting, which focused on how corporations and individuals can manage during a confidence crisis such as the one we are currently experiencing. Mr. Sondak discussed how companies can review cash, liquidity, and financial strategies or provide guidelines to navigate the financial and economic crisis.
The discussion also touched up on how corporations of all types, sizes and scales can review liquidity and better manage cash flow, bank relations and financial markets risk at this critical juncture. Mr. Sondak also touched upon financing options, including traditional bank relationships and the role of non-bank financial lenders (ABL, BDC, and other finance companies) in providing credit during distressed times. |

On May 28, IACC members took part in "The Ripple," the largest online networking event for the transatlantic business community. The Ripple is a one-of-a-kind initiative organized by the international business community to tackle the growing demand for meaningful online connectivity.
Participants got a glimpse into the future of virtual networking and aimed to create 1,000+ new connections among shared communities to launch a ripple of new opportunities! |

Meet Maria Grazia Spinelli, one of the IACC's J-1 visa Exchange Visitors, currently training with Colavita USA. Maria is working hard to support Colavita USA’s essential work in the food distribution industry. “Everyone is looking out for each other,” says Ms. Spinelli, and even though it is very difficult for essential workers across industries right now, Maria feels that she is a part of a cause much larger than herself.
