This year the musical genres and appointments will multiply: jazz by the great trumpeter Fabrizio Bosso will open the musical programme, followed by the unusual trio formed by tenor Fabio Sartori, bass Riccardo Zanellato and actress Lella Costa, who will perform a tribute to Giuseppe Verdi. Great expectations also for Handel's Royal Fireworks, a spectacular concert on the Cinque Torri with the Italian Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Beatrice Venezi, Il barbiere di Siviglia in scenic form with a new production by CortinAteatro and VivaVoceSummertime.

Two appointments with the theatre, both co-productions of the Teatro Stabile del Veneto: La bisbetica domata and Romeo and Juliet l'amore Ť saltimbanco. There are also initiatives dedicated to children and master classes for young musicians and singers.

CortinAteatro, Cortina d'Ampezzo concert and theatre season co-organised by the Municipality of Cortina d'Ampezzo and the Musincantus association in collaboration with the Teatro Stabile del Veneto, is back to brighten up the summer in the Queen of the Dolomites. From 17 July to 10 September, the second summer edition of CortinAteatro features 16 multidisciplinary events, including music - from opera to jazz, from musical theatre to a cappella choral performances - and theatre, with spectacular site-specific adaptations.

It is a tradition, - introduced Cristiano Corazzari, Councillor for Culture of the Veneto Region, -†that CortinAteatro initiatives are presented at the headquarters of the Veneto Region and then take the road to the UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites, confirming the importance of sharing and love for this wonderful land of ours that is Veneto. The Ampezzo concert and theatre season is part of the calendar of RetEventi Cultura Veneto, and specifically RetEventi of the Province of Belluno. A project strongly supported by the Veneto Region, in the conviction that it is fundamental to work in a network logic. A second edition, made possible thanks to the commitment of the Musincantus Association, the Municipality of Cortina and the Teatro Stabile del Veneto, which adds value and content to the culture and history of the Veneto, as well as promoting and enhancing the cultural and local heritage.

CortinAteatro is a project aimed at different targets, from residents to international audiences, from connoisseurs to neophytes, from adults to children, with a special focus on educational entertainment. The fundamental objective of the entire programme is to create a season capable of interacting and integrating with the city's tourist and cultural offerings.†

This year, -†explains Edoardo Bottacin, president of Musincantus and artistic director of CortinAteatro, - the relationship with the territory has been further intensified and important new collaborations have been established, such as the one with the Val Boite State Institute of Art of Cortina d'Ampezzo for the creation of elements for the window display of the main street of the city inspired by the opera "The Barber of Seville", or with TEDx Cortina, an event that we will inaugurate with a performance by Danilo Stagni, first horn soloist at La Scala and teacher of our horn masterclass, in co-production with the Cortina Festival of Bands. There is also no shortage of co-productions with venetian organisations, including the Teatro Sociale di Rovigo-Teatro Di Tradizione and the Orchestra Machiavelli di Verona.†

After months in which we were deprived of contacts and emotions, culture is back in the Ampezzo summer. - says Gianpietro Ghedina, Mayor of Cortina d'Ampezzo - CortinAteatro is another point scored by my administration, which is constantly looking for new cultural projects capable of attracting the sensitivity of big names in the arts. A prestigious project born from winning and now consolidated synergies: the Municipality of Cortina d'Ampezzo, the cultural association Musincantus and the Teatro Stabile del Veneto, together to celebrate the incomparable beauty of the Queen of the Dolomites through the language of art, music and theatre. The setting of the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, proves to be the ideal stage for events of international calibre for everyone, citizens, guests, visitors, young and old alike. The CortinAteatro summer festival is part of our "welcome back", a new way to welcome you and return to nourish your soul with beauty.

The resumption of a multidisciplinary festival like this one is news that makes us very happy - says Giampiero Beltotto, president of the Teatro Stabile del Veneto - Together with the reopening of theatres in our cities, we can only be pleased to be able to return to run our productions to animate places like the Queen of the Dolomites. Thanks to the trust and recognition of the Region and the Municipality of Cortina, the Teatro Stabile del Veneto is once again able to play its role at the service of the territory.
