Federico Tessari, president of Unioncamere Veneto, will display the preliminary report on 2009 economic situation in the Veneto region and forecasts for 2010.
This preliminary report on Veneto economy, first edited in 2000, annually collects the results from the first assessments on the year just ended, together with forecasts for the current year.
After a slight downturn in 2008, a negative trend in 2009 was experienced above all by SMEs in the manufacturing industry and exporting companies, and also the agricultural and retail trade sectors faced some difficulties.
On the other hand, the tertiary sector withstood this difficult period thanks to well-performing innovative services and tourism industry holding steady, which confirms its status as one of the most productive realities in this region.
In this year’s edition, the preliminary report also deals with the situation of Veneto region and the 27 member states of the EU referring to the objectives set by the Lisbon Strategy.
