ALPAGO. First the climb among the world leaders in energy-efficient heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration solutions. Now the investment in a unique research, development and design business hub. Copeland (a global climate technology company), opened this morning (Friday, Sept. 29) a truly unique Innovation Center within its Alpago facility.
It is a multifunctional space of about 1,000 square meters equipped with a cutting-edge laboratory dedicated to research and development, as well as training and reception areas. The Innovation Center will provide cutting-edge technologies for Copeland’s electronic controller business in Italy.
MISSION
The facility will be used by the Copeland team in Belluno (Coperland Controls S.r.l., which employs more than 200 people). The Belluno Business Unit has experienced rapid growth over the years, and the launch of this Innovation Center marks the next chapter in Copeland’s sustainability journey in Italy.
The Copeland Innovation Center will provide a new level of excellence in controller innovation by enabling Copeland to anticipate market needs by developing innovative and sustainable solutions, increase customer satisfaction by helping customers achieve their sustainability goals, reduce “time-to-market” for both products and customers, certify the functionality and effectiveness of products by being able to test them in real applications, and finally provide the market with even more reliable and safe products and solutions.
Investments in Innovation Centers like this one in Belluno are critical for Copeland; research and development departments around the world will help Copeland play a key role in improving the energy efficiency of heating and cooling solutions.
STRUCTURE
The Copeland Innovation Center has a number cutting-edge rooms for research and development, including an Innovation lab for testing new equipment, a Market lab with testing in real supermarket and convenience store applications, a climate chamber for testing equipment in all climatic conditions of temperature, humidity, and air velocity, an outdoor area with Market lab machines so they can be tested in real applications, and a reception area for customer engagement and training.
Innovations from the Copeland Innovation Center will help customers achieve their sustainability goals, whether it’s efficiently managing refrigeration equipment in a supermarket or heating and cooling their homes more responsibly.
