President Mario Pozza attended the Commemoration Ceremony of the 60th Anniversary of the Vajont tragedy, in the presence of the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella and all civil and military authorities.
Vajont, 09 October 2023. Today, with shared sorrow in my memory, I took part – commented the President of the Chamber of Commerce of Treviso – Belluno|Dolomiti Mario Pozza – in the Commemoration Ceremony of the 60th Anniversary of the Vajont tragedy. It was a profound and moving experience, which made me reflect on the gravity of the event and what a warning it is in the history of our country.
Being present alongside the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella and the civil and military authorities amplified the meaning of this commemoration. It was a moment of national unity,’ stressed President Pozza, ‘in which we all renewed our commitment, in our respective roles, not to forget the victims and to continue working for the safety of our communities.
This anniversary reminds us how crucial it is to learn from past mistakes and put in place preventive measures to avoid similar tragedies in the future.
