The Innovation Fund is one of the world’s leading funding programs for the development of innovative low-carbon technologies.
Activated by the European Commission under the EU-ETS (Emission Trade System), the Innovation Fund aims to bring industrial solutions to market to decarbonize the European economy and support the Union’s transition to climate neutrality.
Defining the volume and strategic priorities of the calls and making award decisions is the responsibility of the European Commission (DG Climate Action), assisted by the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA) and the European Investment Bank (EIB); operationally, the program is managed by CINEA, with the EIB providing project development assistance instead.
Two calls were launched on November 23, 2023, making available €4 billion from the proceeds of the EU-ETS for interventions to decarbonize production systems and support renewable hydrogen production.
In order to present the financing tool and promote the participation of Italian companies in these initiatives, the Ministry of Environment and Energy Security (MASE), in collaboration with ENEA and Confindustria, will hold a special National Info Day in Rome on January 23, 2024.
The meeting aims to inform participants about the main features and novelties of the new calls for proposals, provide useful information and tools for drafting appropriate projects, delve into their technical aspects with national and European contact persons, and provide necessary clarifications on the calls for proposals.
Participation in the Info Day is free, after registration, in Save the date. Innovation Fund-National Info Day-Events ENEA-Events.
