“Milan Cortina 2026 Trophies”, 42,300 Students for the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

42,300 students from 73 schools in Lombardy and Veneto Regions (in addition to the three and a half million who have already taken part in the initiative since 1964) attended the 61st edition of the “MILAN CORTINA 2026 TROPHIES – Education, Culture and Sport for Young People”, a year-long training project – part of the “Education Gen26″ Programme of the Milan Cortina 2026 Foundation – based on engaging proposals for Primary and 1st Grade Secondary Schools.

With the aim of raising awareness and bringing young people closer to Olympism, this is the first time that the event is named after the two cities hosting the next 2026 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The President of the Organising Committee, Prof. Franco Ascani (Member of the Culture Commission of the International Olympic Committee), emphasised ‘the fundamental importance of actively involving the new generations in the dissemination of sports culture and Olympic Values’.

The sports activities, in which 10,200 young people have taken part, will conclude – on 8, 9 and 10 May at the Brera Arena in Milan – with the ‘Three-day Youth Sports Festival’, the highlight of the project. All educational activities (eco-friendly, inclusive) – divided into 5 areas 1) Your ‘Games’, 2) Your ‘Values’, 3) Your ‘Lifestyles’, 4) Your ‘Sport in a Video’, 5) Your ‘Competitions’ – offer different experiences ranging from healthy competition to the promotion of solidarity and mutual respect.

The interactive projections (“Olympic Education through Images”) showed that “sport is in the School” with 347 participating classes. In addition, to support the schools, the SPORTMOVIESTV.COM platform with 30,152 videos was made available free of charge.

Prizes and sports material for schools, participants and teachers were up for grabs.

Grana Padano, prestigious sponsor of the Milan Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, has joined the educational action of the “MILAN CORTINA 2026 TROPHIES” to promote the values of education, culture and sport for young people, as well as the importance of healthy eating.

The “MILANO CORTINA 2026 TROPHIES” are organised in collaboration with Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026, with the technical support of AICS Milanese, Sportre a.s.d., FICTS Italia, ICS – Istituto per il Credito Sportivo, with the patronage of Regione Lombardia and the patronage of CONI – Comitato Regionale Lombardia, Comune di Milano, FIDAL Lombardia and FIDAL Milano and the collaboration of Ufficio Scolastico Regionale Lombardia.
